Rastriya Krishi Vikasa Yojana (RKVY) (Central Sector Scheme) has been launched 2007-08 in Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State and implementation in Horticulture sector was started from 2008-09. Up to 2014-15 it was 100% grant from GOI, from 2015-16 onwards the funding pattern changed to 60:40 ratio of GOI and State Govt. respectively.



  • Creation of infrastructure like permanent pandals at farmers field for quality production of creeper vegetables and enhancing the productivity of creeper vegetables per unit area.

  • Enhancing quality of vegetable produce by reduced pest & disease incidence.

  • Demonstrating the benefit of integration of different agriculture practices viz., Shadenetting, Plastic Mulching, Micro irrigation for increased vegetable production during summer season, thereby encouraging off season vegetable cultivation by the farmers.

  • Reducing the gap between demand and supply of vegetables and to achieve self sufficiency.

  • Encouraging the Horticulture farmers towards plastic mulching in cultivation of horticulture crops.

  • Promoting new technologies.

  • Enhancing knowledge and skills of farmers with latest advanced technologies by conducting trainings and exposure visits.
